STEWARDSHIP ARTICLES

Mark Roberti is a husband and father.  A former Certified Public Accountant with a Master of Business Administration, Mark attended Franciscan University of Steubenville from 1994-1996, earning a Master of Theology and Christian Ministry degree. He worked as the assistant to the bishop/director of stewardship and development for the Diocese of Lubbock, Texas, for six years before being hired as the Director of Stewardship and Development for the Heartland Parishes of Ellis County. Mark has written  numerous articles for the Kansas Northwestern Register and is very active in his parish of St. Josephs.  If you have any questions about stewardship we encourage you to call Mark at the St. Joseph parish Office, 785-625-7356.  Stewardship is a holy way of life!

Ten thoughts about stewardship:

  • Stewardship is about relationship with God, family, and faith community.
  • We journey, as the Israelites journeyed, as a faith community.  Their desert was physical; ours is spiritual.
  • Stewardship begins and ends in prayer
  • Stewardship pertains to time, talent, treasure, trust, truth, and teachings
  • We must always return to God our first fruits…from the very core of our being
  • Stewardship is a thread that must consistently run though our lives, our families and our all our parish ministries.
  • The more we hold back in our relationship with God, the less we have
  • As much a people complain that stewardship puts to much emphasis on money, the truth is that we are not truly converted until our wallets are converted
  • People who are prayerful, active in their faith, and generous givers, are happy
  • Stewardship plus evangelizations equals discipleship.  That’s our baptismal vow.
