PASTORAL CARE
The Pastoral Care coordinator of Ministry of the Aging, Sick, and
Homebound compassionately offers spiritual and emotional support for
healthy living and continued spiritual growth listening to the needs
and concerns. the coordinator responds attentively and in a
timely manner with referrals when needed.
A. Homebound

Parishioners in need of spiritual and
emotional support, Anointing of Sick and Holy Communion are
asked to notify the parish at 785-625-7356. Assigned EM's
visit homebound (parishioners only) with communion once a week
by request on Sundays. Please call the parish office if
you have a family members unable to attend Mass and want the
Eucharist.
B. Prayer Chain
- Does someone or you want prayer? We have parishioners,
as a ministry, who pray for your needs. Just call the
parish office at 785-625-7356 or e-mail
stjprayerchain@ruraltel.net. Soon your intention will
be remembered.
C. Bereavement
- "Journey through Grief" is 8 session support group for those
grieving a loss of a loved one or otherwise offered in the
spring and fall. Call 785-625-7356 for specific dates and
details.
- Card Ministry: Sympathy cards sent to next of kin at times
of death & 1st anniversary.
D. Hospital Visits
- Parishioners are spiritually ministered to by request.
Please call the parish office 785-625-7356 if you desire a visit
and Anointing of the Sick.
Privacy Law: prohibits
hospitals to releasing patient's name. Family member of
patient is asked to call parish. Eucharist is brought to
Hays Medical Center Saturday or Sunday.
E. Nursing Home
- Pastoral visits to parishioner made as needed and scheduled.
Sacrament of Reconciliation and Anointing of Sick as scheduled
and/or requested. Eucharist arranged and provided where
not scheduled in environment.
F. Assisted Living and Senior Housing
- Pastoral visit to parishioner as needed and/or upon request.
Arrangement for Sacraments or Reconciliation and Anointing of
Sick as scheduled and/or requested. Eucharist arranged and
provided where not scheduled in environment.
