St. Joseph Parish Quarterly Report
The Stewards of Hope Committee met in July and August to review the
responses from the pastoral council, finance council, commissions,
committees, and parish staff to that study guide for Bishop
Coakley’s pastoral Letter Put Out Into the Deep: Living Our Call to
Holiness. The SOH
committee used the responses to make recommendations for the
establishment of goals that will lead to implementation of the
Pastoral Plan in St. Joseph Parish.
These goals were discussed with Fr. Mike and following his
approval were sent to pastoral council for implementation.
St. Joseph parishioners have many wonderful opportunities to respond
to the call to holiness.
It is the goal of the SOH committee to ensure all are aware of these
opportunities and feel invited to participate.
St. Joseph Parish Report - July 2011
Members of the Stewards of Hope committee met July 5, 2011.
The committee believes our parish has done a remarkable job
of embracing the Stewards of Hope Pastoral Plan.
A report on our parish’s progress with implementation of the
Pastoral Plan was completed and submitted to our diocesan
representative. Based
on information received from pastoral council, finance council,
commissions, committees and parish staff four goals were written by
the SOH committee.
These goals were submitted to incoming pastor, Father Mike Scully,
for his review, input and approval.
Following approval they will be presented to pastoral council
for implementation.
Lastly, third quarter objectives from the Plan concerning the
establishment of Evangelization committee and fostering an active
RCIA program were discussed.
The committee’s next meeting will be August 9 to finalize the
goals and further discuss the third quarter objectives.
Call to Holiness Conference - You’re Invited!
Holiness is in loving God with all your heart, mind, soul, and
strength and loving your neighbor as yourself.
Join us Sunday, September 11th, at St. Fidelis Church,
Victoria, from noon to 4:45 p.m. (with Mass following) for the
diocesan Call to Holiness Conference.
Let’s work together within our parishes and as parishes with
the Diocese of Salina to revitalize our families and our faith.
Together, in the Holy Spirit, let’s “put out into the deep!”
Our hope is that the new bishop will be our keynote speaker.
There will be a talk on the Eucharist as the source and
summit of the Christian life, and two breakout sessions of five
presentation each ranging from prayer, hospitality, witnesses,
stewardship, the New Evangelization, and evangelization with in the
Hispanic Community.
